About Cornerstone College

Working in the creek

Cornerstone College is a Year 7 to 12 co-educational Christian College, located in Mount Barker, situated amongst the beautiful Adelaide Hills.  Cornerstone is a safe, supportive and nurturing environment serving a wide catchment across the Adelaide Hills community.

We challenge and empower our students to wonder, think and act in ways that enable them to flourish as individuals and in their learning and relationships.  It is important to us to help our students find their own meaning and purpose and thus enable them to make a difference to the people and communities in their lives.  With Christ as our firm foundation, we work in partnership with our students, families and wider community to provide a dynamic and innovative learning experience.

The original vision for the College began in 1984 with a group of dedicated Christians from various denominations who saw the need for a Christian secondary school in the Adelaide Hills.  Built on this dream, the College commenced in 1990 with 49 students, six staff and a collection of temporary buildings.  The 16 hectares of magnificent land at Mount Barker now accommodates a student body of over 900 students from Years 7 to 12 as well as an array of specialist built, state-of-the-art facilities.

Some of the features of Cornerstone College that members of our community have stated they value are:

  • -a wide offering of Senior School subjects
  • -a relevant and relational Christian Living Program
  • -all-embracing Pastoral Care structures and supports
  • -extensive co-curricular and camp offerings
  • -global educational connections
  • -innovative and contemporary middle and senior schooling
