Taminmin College acknowledges with respect, the past and present traditional owners of this land, the Limilngan (Limingun) and Wulna people.

Our Colleges’ name ‘Taminmin’ is derived from the word ‘Daminmin’ which is part of the ‘Dreamtime Story’ of the (Limilngan) Limingun and Wulna language groups.

‘Daminmin’ means (Luderi) turtle place.  This place is situated near Humpty Doo Station, and is the resting place of the creators known as the ‘Travelling Women’ to the Limilingan (Limingun) and Wulna people.  With this knowledge from the local people of the Adelaide River and Fogg Dam areas, this story has been handed down from generations to generation.
