Day 5: A day of rest and community

Today was a rest day so there was some lab work to catch up on. At about 11am we headed down to the river camp (at the Pentecost River), to have a BBQ lunch with some of the Traditional Owner’s (TO’s).

It was spectacular sitting under the shade of a tree, with the Cockburn Ranges in the background. After lunch we had a chance to kick the footy with the kids and then we headed to the river for some fishing. It was a lot of fun, there was even a chance for some mud fishing. At about 3pm we headed home and there was some more lab work and relaxation. Over dinner we once again shared highlights and there was cheesecake as some people had a birthday during Bush Blitz, so we celebrated those birthdays. The cheesecake was fantastic – thanks Olive and Robbie.
